Base price for
kenaf seed purchases for next year (to be delivered late February/early March
2008) is $3.00/lb. F.O.B. in or near Los Indios, Texas.
Anyone who contracts with us to grow the kenaf seed in advance
automatically qualifies for a 50¢/lb. discount--meaning the contract base price
is $2.50/lb. Minimum order is
2,000
lbs. However, we can likely help
those of you with lesser seed needs locate a seed source if you ask.
In addition,
volume discounts of 10¢/lb. are available in 10,000 lb. increments. In other
words, for every 10,000 lbs. of you buy, you get an additional 10¢/lb. discount
(to a floor price of $1.70/lb.). An
additional 5¢/lb. discount is available to select clients who are interested
in reselling kenaf seed under their own brand name in their own sack.
We strongly
encourage anyone interested in securing kenaf seed for next year’s growing
season enter into a contractual relationship with us.
Not only will you garner the discount mentioned above, you will be
assured we will have high quality, reasonably priced seed available for you when
you need it
To initiate a seed increase contract, we will require a 20% non-refundable down payment by July 1, 2007, to plant the acreage necessary to produce the seed. (This deposit is non-refundable as by that date we will be committed to producing the seed, and will not be able to utilize the land in alternative production should you choose not to buy it.) An additional 50% of the order total will be due at harvest (on or before December 15, 2007). The final 30% is due prior to shipment of the seed from our seed warehouse to Los Indios, Texas, in late February/early March 2008.
We realize that
this may seem awfully early to contemplate your seed needs for next year.
However, now is the time that we finalize how much acreage we are going
to commit to kenaf seed production, and we don’t want to leave anyone out of
the picture next year. Even if you
are uncertain as to exactly what your needs will be, we encourage you to give
some thought to what they might be and contact us as soon as you can.
The earlier we have a clear idea of demand, the better we can prepare to
meet that demand.
